Costa Rica: The Last Splash

This week "Byways and Waterways of Costa Rica" raft out of Pacuare River and travel by bus to stay for the evening in La Fortuna. Tuesday and Wednesday, they are river safari paddling with a local naturalist, visiting a working family farm and hiking to a local rope swing as well as a hot spring. They will also hike in a lava field at the base of Aernal Volcano before they leave for home!

The students of Byways and Waterways of Costa Rica are paddling through rivers and canals led by professional river guides from Wilds of Maine Guide Services. They have three base camps: Tortuguero National Park, Pacuare River, and Arenal Volcano. The group is paddling, hiking, swimming in hot springs, and taking trips into the rain forest. We wish them the best and can’t wait to hear more!
